Want to fulfill your dreams of becoming a truck driver? You now have an opportunity to participate in the six-week truck-driving program at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School and have your tuition paid for through Kansas Works. But you have to apply. The next six-week Truck Driving courses are Feb. 18-March 29, April 15-May 24 and May 20-June 28. If you apply to Kansas Works and SCCC/ATS you might be eligible for tuition assistance for one of these three sessions. The course runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, plus three Saturdays for CDL, DDC and CPR training. The cost without assistance from Kansas Works is $650 tuition, $859 applied course fee and $275 fuel surcharge fee, plus books and incidentals. Apply to the Truck Driving program by calling Michael McCarthy at 620-417-1696 or visit campus at 2215 N. Kansas in Liberal. They will help you contact Kansas Works to see if you are eligible for free tuition.
