Financial Aid assistance workshops

Parents of graduating
high school seniors, graduating high school seniors, current college students,
and adults seeking additional education and training toward a current or new
career all face the same challenge - "How do I afford college?”
To help answer that
question, Seward County Community College/Area Technical School has launched a
new financial-aid guidance program for 2010. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Assistance Program
has been established to help parents and students through the often-overwhelming
task of applying for federal financial aid. The
program will be provided through a partnership between the SCCC/ATS Financial
Aid Department and Business Division.
The FAFSA determines
eligibility for common forms of financial assistance including:
Pell Grants (Based on need, you can receive $5,550+ for 2010)
Work-Study Employment Funding
The program will run from
1-4 p.m., Mondays, and 5-8 p.m., Tuesdays, through May 4 in the Hobble Academic
Building, 1801 N. Kansas in Liberal. Parents and students should meet in the

Bring the parents’ and student’s 2009 income
tax statements, W2’s, birthdates, social security numbers (if applicable) and
any additional asset information.
