Student nurses pass with flying colors

The SCCC/ATS Nursing program has
just received official notification from the Kansas State Board of Nursing
(KSBN) of the licensure results for the 2010 Nursing graduates.
For the sixth year in a row, the
SCCC/ATS Practical Nursing program pass rate for first time candidates taking
the National Council Licensure Examination for the Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN)
was 100 percent. The Kansas
average pass rate was 92.9 percent and the national average pass rate was 87.05
percent. The SCCC/ATS Practical Nursing program had its first graduating class
in 1979 and there have been 18 graduating classes with 100 percent pass rate on
the NCLEX-PN exam: 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995,
1996, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The SCCC/ATS Associate Degree
Nursing (ADN) program pass rate for first time candidates taking the National
Council Licensure Examination for the Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) was 88.89
The Kansas average pass rate was 83.8
percent and the national average pass rate was 87.41 percent. More information regarding pass rates

takes on the part of our students to achieve these results,” said Veda King, Director
of Nursing at SCCC/ATS. "In
addition, our nursing faculty are dedicated individuals who strive to provide
the best learning experiences possible for the students.”

Miller, Laurel Lahita and Veda King.
