Sophomore judging team finds success

Members of the sophomore Livestock Judging Team at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School are Corey Wilkins, Holly Pond, AL; Devain Taylor, Clayton, N.M.;  Jena Eder, Sharon Springs; and Jade Greene, Rolla.

The Livestock Judging Teams at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School in Liberal, Kansas have seen some success this fall.

The sophomore team includes Corey Wilkins, Holly Pond, AL; Devain Taylor, Clayton, New Mexico; Jena Eder of Sharon Springs; and Jade Greene, Rolla.

Jena Eder was second overall at the Amarillo, Texas, Tri-State Fair. She also second in cattle and sixth in hogs.

D.J. Etzler of Ignacio, Colo., also placed seventh in cattle and Lindsay Bulk of Riley was fourth in hogs.

At the Tulsa State Fair, Etzler was eighth in cattle and 10th overall.

At the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, Etzler was third in sheep, Kaylee Pelfrey of Texico, N.M., was fourth in cattle.

The freshman team of Pelfrey, Etzler, Shanon Robinson of Balko, Okla., Aaron Richie of Flagler, Colo., Rochelle St. Amand of Danville, Al., & Bulk was third in sheep and sixth overall.

Wilkins was seventh high individual at AK-SAR-BEN in Omaha, Neb. The freshman team was fourth overall that day with third in reasons and sheep.

The livestock judging team competed last week in Louisville, KY at the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE), one of only six national contests. Thirty teams from across the country competed. Wilkins was fourth in the hog division and tied for 10th overall.
