The KU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and Seward County Community College/Area Technical School have teamed up to offer two exciting new courses for age 50+ learners in Southwest Kansas.
These short, non-credit courses offer innovative learning opportunities for the sheer joy of learning.
The final class of the semester will be "America’s First Ladies: More Than the Women Behind the Men,” which will be offered from 2-4 p.m., April 12, 19, 26 in AA 137 on the SCCC/ATS campus.
Students will learn about the accomplishments of the women who served as First Lady, from Martha Washington to Michelle Obama. Little-known facts and insights into their influence on their husbands and on the country are shared through their biographies, letters, speeches, and their behind-the-scenes activities. We will view videos, examine documents from archives, and discuss our remembrances of influential first ladies.
These classes require no homework, out-of-class preparation or testing. Each class is $35. Both classes are $55. Enroll online at
or call toll-free 877-404-5823.
